A Message from Our Leadership
A Letter from Board Chair Nancy Davies & Outgoing Executive Director Jon Pausley
From Nancy Davies, Board Chair, Okoboji Bible Conference:
It is with sadness and gratitude that the Okoboji Bible Conference Ministries Board of Directors announces the departure of Jon Pausley as Executive Director of OBCM. Jon has been a part of OBCM since 2005 and served as a member of the Board from 2015-2017. In 2018, he accepted the role of Executive Director. Jon has been a faithful steward of the Okoboji Bible Conference and has been an effective leader assisting with the capital campaign, overseeing campus improvements and building on the relationships in the community developed by Rick Porter.
Jon has worked over the last couple of years to bring OBCM’s commitment to sharing God’s love and helping Christ followers deepen their relationship with Him and their neighbors year-round. OBCM looks forward to continuing that year-round outreach to the community that he has spearheaded. Jon leaves OBCM in a strong position, ready for the Okoboji Bible Conference later this summer, July 30th – August 5th.
Although Jon’s departure came sooner than expected, nothing surprises our God. Already, in just a few days, God has provided for us (as He always does). Mark Newhouse, a new, but familiar leader, is stepping in as Interim Executive Director, ensuring the effective transition of Jon’s responsibilities and no interruption to the 2022 Okoboji Bible Conference. Mark has attended the Okoboji Bible Conference for 40 years, serving as the Board Chair for nearly a decade, and will be leading the search to identify the next Executive Director. We are grateful for God’s provision and look forward to Mark’s leadership during this time of transition.
Jon’s last day will be April 29th. A search is already underway to identify his successor and we are confident that God will provide the right person for this position. We trust in his faithful provision that has joyfully led us for the last 87 years.
The Board of Directors wishes Jon the best in his new role. We are thankful for all he has given to OBCM. We are confident that, with Mark’s leadership, this transition will be smooth.

From Jon Pausley, Executive Director, Okoboji Bible Conference
As I write this letter to you, it is bittersweet for me to share that I have recently submitted my resignation to the Board. The last four years have been some of the most exciting, rewarding and joyful times in my career and I am proud of all that we have accomplished together. God has been good to us and has provided. It is the past faithfulness of God that encourages me for the future of Okoboji Bible Conference Ministries (OBCM).
It has been an absolute joy to serve in this role. The Okoboji Bible Conference has a special place in my heart. It always will. I will not be going far. I have accepted the role of CEO of Arnolds Park. I remain deeply committed to OBCM and its mission to grow Christians to live out the transforming power of Christ’s love.
I want to thank the Board of Directors for their support, their prayers and their wisdom. I leave this role with nothing but joy for time in serving and in full support of the future of OBCM. Serving with this Board and our staff has been a joy.
With assurance of God’s continued faithfulness,
Jon Pausley – jonpausley@gmail.com
