Conference Theme 2021: Re-New

The theme verse for 2021 is from Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Following a year of where our normal was lost, God maybe up to something new. Let’s explore the beauty of our way making God together. New and familiar faces will be joining us for Conference 2021. A full lineup will be announced in the spring.

Conference Format moved to 7 days

The challenges of Conference 2020 were numerous. However, the changed format for 2020 identified opportunities to adjust Conference upon reflection. The decision was made by our Board of Directors to move to a 7 day Conference format going forward. Conference 2021 will begin on Saturday, July 31 and conclude on Friday, Aug 6. The Saturday night to Friday night format will stay for future Conferences.

There are a variety of reasons for the change. Topping the list is having all our Conference attendees be able to begin and end Conference together. School systems are beginning earlier, many starting the Monday after Conference. Many of our Conference staff work in ministry and missing two consecutive Sundays is growing difficult.

Livestreaming and Greenspace Concerts

The livestreaming of all teaching and worship services in 2020 was a blessing. Those who could not, or chose not, to come in 2020 could still participate. Those who no longer live close enough to come or can no longer come for health and age reasons also participated online. We will continue to make the Livestream option available every year going forward. You can still watch the 2020 Conference on our YouTube Channel.

The Sunday night concert in the Greenspace with Sidewalk Prophets was the largest recent gathering for OBC. The concert provided a night of hope in our community. We will continue to host a Sunday night concert at the Greenspace of Arnolds Park in the coming years. The 2021 band will be announced in the spring.

Summer Concert outside of Conference

The Collingsworth Family will return to Okoboji and join us for a special concert on Sunday, July 25 at 6:00pm. This is a concert outside of Conference. The entry will be $25 per person paid at the door. Make plans to join us as we put our new facilities to more use outside of Conference.

Summer Nights of Worship and International Student Ministry

As we get closer to summer of 2021 keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for opportunities to engage in summer programming and ministry on our campus.
