God knows what we need…
Dear Friends,
The Psalmist writes in Psalm 103:14 that God knows our frame, He remembers we are dust. We are reminded that God knows how we are created. God knows what we need. Knowing what we need may very well be the reason that God inspired Paul to write to the Thesselonian church Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. The clarity as to God’s will for us in this passage is worth noting.
God knows that we need to live lives marked by gratitude, no matter the circumstance. He knows our frame and how we are wired. He knows the simple act of expressing gratitude, and living in a mindset of Thanksgiving, has benefits for both our mental and physical health, let alone focuses our hearts toward heaven. God knowing us and what we need is one simple truth to be thankful for this week.
Our Board of Directors, staff and myself pray that no matter what your Thanksgiving gathering looks like this year – you will find yourself in a spirit of gratitude. Even amidst the circumstances of 2020 we have much to be thankful for. Here at OBCM we are grateful for God’s provision this year, grateful for the lives that were encouraged at Conference, grateful for protection from any known exposure or spread of COVID-19 at Conference and grateful for the significant improvements around campus. God is kind to not just give us mercy but also lavish us with the good gifts of his grace.
An end of the year Christmas letter will be at your mailbox in early December. The letter will tell you of our Conference 2021 Theme and Scripture as well as preview some of our presenters and artists. You will want to read the entire mailing for updates from around our campus, dates to save for spring preview gatherings as well as changes to the format of the Bible Conference for 2021 and beyond. The letter will also ask you to make OBCM part of your year end giving, we pray you will consider doing so.
I pray that both your stomachs and your hearts are full this week. You might even enjoy a cupcake with extra frosting!
With gratitude,
Jon Pausley, Executive Director
